Melissa Price Smith was sworn in on Friday, January 3, 2025, as the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney. She is the first woman to hold the position.
Melissa has been a member of the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office since 2008. Prior to her appointment, Melissa served as an assistant prosecuting attorney and was the supervisor of the office’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team.
Throughout her nearly 20 years of experience as a prosecutor, Melissa has worked closely with law enforcement to fight crime and hold criminals accountable.
Born and raised in St. Louis County, Melissa is a proud mother, sister, and daughter. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and attended St. Louis University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor. Prior to her career in law enforcement, Melissa was a professionally trained ballerina, working alongside her twin sister, in productions across the country.
