“For them to get on the stand and still be willing to tell their truth and what happened to them is incredible,” Bailey-Smith, the lead prosecutor on the case, told reporters after the sentencing phase. “It’s a true testament to how brave these women are. And, as I said in closing, I think he thought he picked his victims well, but he really messed up.”
