“I am very aware that at least 50% of health care workers report having been assaulted on the job,” Price Smith said Monday. “And I believe that over the years, health care workers have basically been taught it’s a job hazard. You know, ‘Toughen up. It’s part of your job’ — and that’s not the case. We need to protect our health care workers, which is why we created this unit to hold people to account.”
